Most digital menus are lists: categories, dishes, scroll, tap. Conversational ordering adds another way in. The guest says what they want, in their own words, and the menu answers with something they can order straight away. It is the difference between browsing a catalogue and asking a waiter.

From question to order, step by step

1. The guest asks. They tap a quick pick (Vegetarian, Seafood, Birthday, Wine Pair, Under a budget) or type something like "lunch for two, nothing too heavy".

2. The menu answers with complete options. MenuGPT builds two or three full options from your active menu and live offers, sized to the party, with quantities, sizes and extras for each dish.

3. The guest adjusts. They change a quantity, pick a size or add an extra, without leaving the conversation.

4. One tap adds it all. Choosing an option adds every dish to the order.

5. The conversation carries on. MenuGPT suggests add-ons that go with the choice and shows what is trending tonight. The guest can keep asking, or go to the order.

6. The order goes to the kitchen like any other, with notes and allergies attached.

What you control

  • The menu it answers from. Only active dishes, with your descriptions, tags and allergens.
  • The offers it can mention. Only live campaigns.
  • Availability. Sold-out dishes are swapped for the closest alternative.
  • Pairings. The add-ons it suggests come from the pairings you set.
  • Usage. MenuGPT is metered by sessions, with caps, so there are no surprise bills.

In the guest's language

Guests ask in the language they chose for the menu, and MenuGPT answers in the same language. The order still reaches your team in theirs, through the staff language.

How to tell whether it is working

Watch the MenuGPT funnel: sessions opened, recommendations shown, options added and orders paid. Look at what guests ask for most; it often reveals a gap in your menu or a dish that needs a better description. Every suggestion is tracked as shown, added or dismissed.

Who it is for

Conversational ordering helps most when guests are unsure: groups deciding together, visitors reading in a second language, guests with dietary needs, and anyone facing a long menu. It sits alongside the normal menu; guests who know what they want can still just tap and order.
